Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the initial names under consideration to replace the former manager as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pereira was sacked on Sunday after the team's 10-match without a victory beginning to the Premier League campaign.
Furthermore Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have previous links to the club - are part of the options to be considered by the Wolves ownership.
Edwards is currently at another club, which would pose a possible hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.
However the ex- Luton head coach - who made over a century of games for the club during his playing career - is said to be a leading candidate for the position.
The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys backing from the club board as they start the search of hiring a new head coach.
Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise contender, even though he would be a surprising choice considering he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.
The ex- West Ham player is out of work which means Wolves would not be required to provide any compensation.
